The Chief Priest taps each child on the head with a special Gohonzon to encourage a life-long practice. |

The ages of the children range from two to twelve.

Bundles of healthy snacks were also distributed.

On January 1, 2007 we celebrated the New Year with Gongyo lead by our Chief Priest, Reverend Shogu Kimura, and Assisted by Reverend Ryomyo Arima. |

Michael and Jessica Wallace practiced for their taiko performance at their home in Eureka three nights a week for two weeks before the ceremony.

To close the festivities the priests serve cups of apple cider and
hand out pens to celebrate the New Year. This was the first year that sake was not served. | |
