The 20th Anniversary of Myoshinji Temple held June 20, 2004

Preparations for the 20th Anniversary Ceremony actually
began the weekend before with temple cleanup.

Everyone enjoys chipping in.

Just prior to the ceremony two members from San Jose prepare snacks,
while the receptionists are ready to issue the programs.

As the ceremony begins, a member from Vallejo/Napa
sets a steady rhythm for the chanting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Because of space limitations, many were seated in entranceway.

After Reverend Kimura read the precepts of Nichiren Shoshu to a new member,
the MCs, from the Young Adults Group, assumed the podium.

Aracely Wallace, from Berkeley, gave a heartwarming experience,
followed by a determination from David Segure, a Young Adult Group member also from Berkeley.

David Tilbury then gave his determination on behalf of Seattle-Tacoma,
followed by the determination of Sue Dubois from British Columbia.

Chief Priest Reverend Kimura gave his address, as did Arthur Whitney, Koto from San Mateo.

Guests were also introduced.

Two members who drove from Reno are the recipients of applause.

And a special thanks for those members who came all the way from the State of Washington.

The Canadian members had their picture taken with Reverend Kimura after the ceremony.
